Microsoft has just rolled out a new set of improvements for the Video app included in Windows 8.1, so make sure you launch the store to get the latest version.

Keep in mind that all updates are automatically installed on all Windows 8.1 devices by default, so you might not see the new version waiting in the store.

The update brings several bug fixes, as well as “improved layout for TV show extra episodes Improvements for portrait mode and high resolution screen,” according to the official release notes.

Of course, the application continues to work like a charm on both desktops and tablets, including Microsoft original and revamped Surface tablet.

The application relies on the same rich feature package, so go ahead and download Video for Windows 8.1 to watch your favorite clips without leaving the Modern UI.
