The number of tools available in the Store continues to grow

Microsoft continues efforts to bring more high-quality apps in the Windows Store and, at some level, all these attempts are slowly paying off.

At this point, there are more than 120,000 apps available for download, according to statistics provided by MetroStore Scanner, a third-party service that tracks the items listed for download.

Figures are obviously growing bigger as more developers embrace the new Windows 8, but also because Microsoft has invested big into promoting its own platform. At the same time, Redmond has convinced more large companies to port their apps to Windows 8, so official apps such as Facebook are to be released soon.

Last but not least, Windows 8.1 is just around the corner and Microsoft again signals the opportunity to make yourselves noticed by developing Metro apps to be available on both desktops and tablets.
