The Windows Store is growing bigger with more apps

Windows 8 continues its growth, and even though Microsoft doesn’t provide too many details on the number of apps available in the Store, third-party services are there to lend us a hand.

MetroStore Scanner, an unofficial service that keeps an eye on the Windows Store and on the apps that are submitted for approval, now claims that Windows 8 adopters are provided with more than 115,000 Metro apps, most of which are offered free of charge.

While the amount of spam listed in the Store is shockingly high, Microsoft has actually managed to convince a few large companies to port their apps to Windows 8.

Foursquare, for example, has recently launched its own Windows 8 app, while social networking service Facebook is expected to do the same thing in the coming months.
