A new leak that reached the web today indicates that Microsoft has already started work on Windows 9 and the next full Windows operating system is currently in the alpha development stage.

A report published by myce.com and pointing to a full photo that was previously teased by Windows leaker Faikee reveals that Windows 9 could launch in Q2 or Q3 2015, as Microsoft continues work on the product.

Previously, it was rumored that Windows 9 could launch in April 2015, while a preview version of the operating system was expected to see daylight in February 2015.

According to this new leak, however, Microsoft might delay the launch a little bit, as work on some other products also continue, including the metro UI, Windows Defender, and OneDrive.

Windows 9 could also come with Cortana, the personal assistant that's already available in Windows Phone 8.1 and which might at some point hit the PC and tablets running Windows. Microsoft has already hinted that such a project is on the tablet, but no details as to when the launch could take place have been provided.

As usual, take everything with a pinch of salt until someone at Microsoft confirms these details, as nobody knows for sure whether the photo you're seeing here is legitimate or not.
