XYplorer has received an update today, to build 13.50, which brings to the table the possibility to integrate external tools for handling file operations such as copy and move.

The developer has announced that two such utilities are supported at the moment, TeraCopy and FastCopy, both being able to carry out file transfers faster than the default tool in Windows.

The procedure of tweaking XYplorer (also available as a portable download) to relay the action to these third-party alternatives is not too complicated and involves adding the specifications of the desired external copy handler.

Additional modifications present in this release refer to support for wildcards for favorite folders and files, which can be defined from the Tools>List Management menu.

Furthermore, the fresh revision introduces support for distributed copying, a feature that enables the user to feed a list of items, spread across various locations, to a copy/move operation and thus achieve the transfer in one go.
