Microsoft adds new features to its Bing search service

Microsoft periodically adds new features to its Bing search engine, and today the company announced that users would be able to order food from a number of restaurants straight from the results page.

Basically, all you need to do is type the name of the restaurant and Bing will display information such as location, dishes, website, a map, and the menu. An option to order online will also be offered and pressing it will get you straight to the restaurant's online ordering option, with your choice of dishes to be then delivered to your door.

Together with this new feature, Microsoft also introduced an option to quickly find a new hotel to stay in, in a specific location.

This time, you only have to search for “hotels in x,” with “x” representing the location you want. Bing will then display a carousel that includes hotel name, user reviews, and photos.

Clicking on any of these items would display more information, including a map, directions, website, and options to book a room. These features are powered by TripAdvisor.

Needless to say, these new features only work in the United States for the time being and the food ordering service is still limited to a number of restaurants. Microsoft has promised to add more in the coming updates, but not timing has been offered for this.
