New version of Flash Player now up for grabs

Adobe has just released a new version of the Flash Player, as the company is introducing new security patches across its entire product lineup.

A changelog is not available just yet, but given the fact that today is the day when Adobe pushes fixes to everyone running its solutions, it makes sense for Flash Player 24.0.0.221 to be specifically aimed at addressing vulnerabilities and bugs that could expose users running the software.

Adobe is expected to publish more information on this updated version of Flash Player later today, as the firm has just updated its servers with the new version, and users are recommended to patch their systems as soon as possible.

Flash Player has long been one of the solutions most often affected by security vulnerabilities, and Adobe rolls out patches every single month on the second Tuesday. Adobe has thus matched its patching cycle with Microsoft’s, which also releases updates on the second Tuesday of each month.

Microsoft users will get the new Flash Player version later today via Windows Update, as it’s integrated into Edge browser and Internet Explorer, while a new version of Google Chrome should go live in a few hours as well for the same reason.

In the meantime, you can download Flash Player 24.0.0.221 using this link, and we’ll update the article with more information on what exactly is new in this version and what bugs Adobe is trying to squash when the release notes become available.
