New version released to address security vulnerabilities

It’s Patch Tuesday, so it’s the day when Microsoft, Adobe, and several other companies are rolling out security fixes for their software in an attempt to address the most recent publicly and privately disclosed vulnerabilities.

While Microsoft will push the go-ahead button in just a few hours, and will also include a fix for a zero-day in Word, Adobe has already published a new version of Flash Player on its servers that will become available broadly to users worldwide later today.

Adobe Flash Player 25.0.0.148 is here mostly to fix security flaws, though no release notes are available just yet, as this version was uploaded to the company’s servers only a couple of minutes ago. But because it lands on Patch Tuesday, it’s almost certainly a security release, and it goes without saying that users should install it as soon as possible.

While this manual download is available right now, Windows users will also get the new Flash Player version later today via Windows Update, as Adobe’s product comes built-in with Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge browser.

The same is the case with Google Chrome, so Google is projected to launch a new version of its browser with the updated Flash Player later today as well.

In the meantime, those who no longer want to wait anymore can proceed to download Adobe Flash Player right now from Softpedia.
