Nadella has decided to “upgrade the challenge”

Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella, who had already taken the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness of ALS, has decided to do it again, this time inviting Windows head Terry Myerson and a number of members of the Windows team to participate.

Nadella was one of the first tech CEOs to take the challenge, so now that the Windows family has grown with the Insider program, which proved to be extremely successful all over the world, the Microsoft new boss has decided to support the campaign one more time, challenging all Windows Insiders across the globe to do the same.

“Challenged by former pro-football player Steve Gleason as part of Team Gleason’s #GiveTheWorld campaign, Nadella ‘upgraded’ his challenge by inviting Terry Myerson, executive vice president of the Windows and Devices Group, and other members of the Windows team, to also take part,” Microsoft has explained in a blog post today.

Challenging Windows insiders is pretty smart because there are 6 million Windows testers right now, so if only 1 percent of them decide to take the challenge, it's already a big win for both Microsoft and the ALS awareness campaign.

It remains to be seen, however, how many Windows insiders are ready to throw some ice-cold water on their heads, but given the fact that the community has already proved to be really loyal, don't be too surprised if you see an avalanche of such videos in the coming weeks.
