Microsoft has just published a new video showcasing the Surface Dial, an accessory that was first introduced in October 2016 as the perfect companion for the recently-launched Surface Studio.

This new video shows Microsoft’s Mollie Ruiz-Hopper discussing the essential features of the Surface Studio, while also providing some basic instructions on how to configure it if you just purchased the device.

The Surface Studio was launched with much fanfare last October, as it represents Microsoft’s first step into the all-in-one PC market where companies like Apple were already dominating the premium category.

With the arrival of the Studio, Microsoft also unveiled a little accessory called Surface Dial, which is available for just $99 and provides access to a series of features with just a few touches.

While many call the Surface Dial a modern version of the mouse wheel, Microsoft describes its new accessory as “a completely new way to interact with technology and create in the most natural, immersive way. Store, customize, access, navigate, and reimagine physical tools in the digital world - from concept to creation.”

Developers can already integrate Surface Dial support into their apps, and Microsoft highlights those that already feature such functionality in the Windows Store, in a move to boost the number of downloads, but also to encourage more app makers to do the same thing. Watch the video below to see the Surface Dial in action and to learn more about its features.
