Redmond creates its Mannequin Challenge video with HoloLens

The #MannequinChallenge is becoming more and more popular these days and pretty much everyone is doing it, be they artists, celebrities, or Presidential candidates who were so close to becoming the next United States President.

And just like expected, Microsoft just couldn’t stay away from all this fun, so the Redmond-based tech giant created its own #MannequinChallenge video and posted it online.

The software giant, however, did the whole thing in its own way, using the HoloLens to create a video that imagines a completely static environment. Virtual objects are all standing still in Microsoft’s own interpretation of the #MannequinChallenge, which you can watch at the end of the article.

“#MannequinChallege accepted! We couldn't pass up an opportunity to do this fun challenge with holograms,” Microsoft says in the description of the video which comes without one very important thing: the background song that everybody is using for Mannequin Challenge videos.

Leaving this minor mistake aside, Microsoft is one of the companies that seem to like getting involved in this kind of fun, as the company’s executives previously participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge as well.

For the moment, Microsoft appears to be one of the first tech giants to roll out its Mannequin Challenge video, so it’s probably just a matter of time until Google, Facebook, and the others publish theirs.
