Bots are Microsoft’s most recent passion, as the company continues investments in AI and machine learning technologies, so today it’s unveiling the so-called Bing Sportscaster for Facebook.

As you could easily guess by simply reading its name, Sportscaster is nothing more than a sports bot, and using technology developed by Microsoft, it can provide you with sports information without ever leaving the social network.

All you have to do to start chatting with Sportscaster is to launch Facebook Messenger and search for Bing Sportscaster. When you start the first conversation, simply tell the bot the name of your favorite team and then wait to be amazed.

The bot not only sends a message when a new game is about to start but it also shows Bing predictions to tell you who’s going to win. The Bing prediction engine has proved to be quite accurate in the past, so Microsoft implemented it in the bot to make sure that Facebook users are giving it a try as well.

“Let the Bing Sportscaster show you what it can do with college hoops. Tell it who you like, and let the scores and rankings follow you,” Microsoft explains in a short presentation of the Facebook bot.

Additionally, the bot is also capable of providing score notifications whenever something important happens, and it’s all available by simply configuring Sportscaster to follow your favorite team for you.
