New version of OneNote now up for grabs from App Store

Microsoft’s investments in iOS continue today with an updated version of OneNote that includes a major visual overhaul bringing it in line with flavors on other platforms.

Specifically, starting with version 16.0, OneNote for iOS includes a side menu that allows users to browse their notebooks, sections, and pages, just like is the case with the Windows version already up for grabs.

There are no other new features in this update, but Microsoft says that it’s essential for iOS users to download and install this version because browsing notes and managing them has been substantially improved.

“Experience the redesigned look and feel of OneNote: It's easier than ever to organize your notes with an improved layout. All of your notebooks, sections, and pages can be found in columns on the side of the app, efficiently navigable with screen readers, keyboards, and more,” Microsoft says.

OneNote for iPhones requires iOS 9.0 or later and can be used on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. All you need is a Microsoft account that’s then used to keep your notes in the cloud and have them synchronized with the other devices whenever you set OneNote up.

For Apple users, Microsoft is also offering an Apple Watch app that comes as a companion to the iPhone version, so make sure you check out this one too if you’re entirely committed to the Apple ecosystem.
