Everyone’s waiting for Microsoft to publicly acknowledge the demise of the Band wearable, but in the meantime, the company keeps working on the device and releases new updates for users across the world.

The latest such update brings improvements for both the companion app on mobile devices and the actual activity tracker, but for the moment, Microsoft’s remaining tight-lipped on what exactly has changed in this new release.

The Microsoft Band app has been updated to version 2.3.21004.0 (on Windows 10 Mobile), while the Band 2 firmware version is now at 2.0.5301.0. Android, iOS, and Windows 10 Mobile users are now getting the updates on their devices, but we’re hearing there’s no sign of new versions on Windows Phone models.

The official Microsoft Band and Microsoft Band app update history page does not include any information regarding new firmware updates shipped by the software giant, pointing to the September 15 release as the latest one provided to users.

Most likely, this new firmware and app update does not bring anything new beside fixes and small improvements here and there, but it remains to be seen if Microsoft indeed updates the aforementioned page with more information or not.

For the moment, however, everyone seems to be in doubt that Microsoft Band still has a future, but until an official announcement is provided, let’s just hope that it does.
