If Apple’s built-in iOS email client isn’t exactly what you were hoping for and you want a different app to help you with your Gmail, Exchange, or IMAP accounts, then the chances are that you discovered Microsoft’s Outlook, as this is currently one of the best apps of its kind on iPhone and iPad.

And because so many people are using it, Microsoft keeps improving Outlook for iOS on a frequent basis, and recently the company has rolled out version 2.4.2.

The new version of Microsoft Outlook comes with better event management, so it doesn’t necessarily change the way you receive emails, but rather the calendar feature. Microsoft says that, after the update, you can create new events more easily than before because you can simply start tying the first letters of your desired location, and suggestions will be offered to complete the field quicker.

Furthermore, you’ll be able to open the Maps app and see where you’re supposed to head to for a meeting, all automatically without having to do all these things manually.

“On top of that, we’ll display the location in a map in your event's details so you have a better idea of exactly where you’re supposed to go. Not sure how to get there? Tap on the map to jump into your favourite Maps app and get directions,” Microsoft explains.

As usual, the new version is available in the App Store and can be downloaded on iPhones and iPads running iOS version 8 or later.
