They say Microsoft loves Linux, but lately, the software giant has shown a growing interest in rival mobile platforms as well, trying to conquer both Android and iOS with its apps and services.

Cortana, for example, is now available on non-Windows platforms too and today, the company rolled out a new Android version that comes with substantial improvements.

For example, Cortana version 1.9.10.1315 features faster and better home page loading, as some users have reported that the personal assistant was rather slow at first launch. Furthermore, this update also includes more accurate reminder triggering on Android M devices, as well as a better notification sound for reminders, according to the official changelog.

And last but not least, this version also includes a pull-down refresh capability for your reminder list page, so you can easily refresh your reminders to see the latest ones.

Cortana is supposed to provide a similar experience on Android devices as it does on Windows, and the essential feature package is available here too - not the same thing can be said about the iOS version, though, where functionality such as Hey Cortana is not available because of limitations implemented by Apple.

Without a doubt, if you’re an Android user and like Microsoft’s personal assistant, this new version is really worth a try, so go ahead and download the Cortana APK right now to get all these improvements on your phone too.
