Microsoft has just released a new update for its MSN News app for iOS, as it’s working to improve it with support for the latest version of Apple’s operating system.

MSN News, now at version 1.2.69, comes with better support for iOS 9, which is a little surprising, given the fact that this release has been around for a while, and Apple is already getting ready to introduce iOS 10 (rumor has it this will happen in September, when the company also unveils the new iPhone).

The update also includes fixes for issues causing the app to restart when resuming a session, but also other improvements and stability enhancements, so if you are a daily user of MSN News on an iPhone, noticeable performance boosts are very likely.

And while MSN News has been updated to run smoothly on iOS 9, we’ve also tested the app on the existing public betas of iOS 10, and everything seems to work correctly. The app is very responsive, and all features appear to be running smoothly, but even so, expect other updates to improve iOS 10 compatibility in the near future too.

As compared to Apple’s News app, which is limited to users in the United States, MSN News can be downloaded in any country out there on an iPhone, and it provides similar functionality that allows you to stay up to date with topics in a variety of sections, including world news, technology, and politics.
