If the built-in Windows weather app isn’t quite your cup of tea, raindrop is one of the tools that promise to offer many more goodies, all in the same Modern UI of your Windows 8 computer.

The app has recently received a massive update that brings not only performance improvements, but also some new features aimed at both Windows 8 and Windows RT.

For example, the Cover View background image is now automatically downloaded from Bing, while the lock screen notification settings bring the latest weather conditions right on the lock screen.

Of course, it comes with lots of options to display the forecast, including alerts, current and hourly weather, as well as detailed conditions for the next 7 days and information for any location across the world.
