A new version of the app for Windows desktop is up for grabs

Skype for Windows desktop continues to be the most popular version of the VoIP client, despite the many other flavors released by Microsoft in the last few years, so updates definitely come in handy to quite a lot of users.

Today, Microsoft has officially released Skype 7.16 for Windows, but just as it does with OS updates, the company hasn’t released any change log to let us know what exactly is new in this version.

One thing is for sure, though: while big changes are unlikely to be part of this release, expect performance improvements and bug fixes to be included, which should obviously lead to increased responsiveness and reliability on Windows computers.

Another great thing about this particular version of the app is that it works on all Windows releases currently on the market, including 7, 8 and 10. Obviously, Windows 10 users also have their very own version of the app, but running it on the desktop just makes more sense for those who are used with the traditional system.

As a conclusion, it doesn’t matter if big changes are part of this new release or not because bug fixes and improvements should be reason enough to install it, so go ahead and download Skype for Windows to stay updated too. And obviously, let us know if you come across any significant changes.
