Starbucks is one of the companies that promised to join the Windows Phone bandwagon and an official app is already in the works, with new information now revealing that a debut is expected to take place sometime in the next 30 to 45 days.

Without any doubt, the Starbucks app would be a nice addition to the Windows Phone app arsenal, especially because the platform is still suffering from the lack of apps despite Microsoft’s aggressive push.

But according to company president and chief operating officer Kevin Johnson (who’s also a former Microsoft executive, which give us some background on why Starbucks is making a Windows Phone app), the official client should debut very soon.

“[Our] team has been working in partnership with Microsoft and we are within 30 to 45 days of releasing a Windows Phone app,” he was quoted as saying by GeekWire.

Not much is known about the features that the Windows Phone app would launch with, but it is expected to come with the same functionality as the iOS and Android versions. Starbucks customers can pay for drinks with the app and get rewards as they gain points for every purchase, as well as see locations of near stores on an interactive map.

The new Starbucks app will most likely be universal, so it’ll run on both PCs and smartphones powered by Windows 10.
