Microsoft decided to discontinue gadgets when Windows 8 got the green light, but it's no secret that many users are still looking into ways to bring them back in newer versions of Windows.

On Windows 8, there were apps that could do that quite easily, and fortunately, there's now a software solution that can do the same thing on Windows 10.

The so-called Gadgetarian was specifically created to bring Windows 7's gadgets on the Windows 10 desktop, so just set it up and you should see the familiar gadgets interface when right-clicking the desktop.

Installing the app, however, is a little bit tricky. To do it, you have to copy the archive contents to the system32 folder of your Windows 10 installation, and then launch the install.cmd bat file with administrator privileges.

Once all files are successfully copied to your hard-drive, you can open the gadgets configuration screen by right-clicking the desktop. A gadget section should now be available to easily access available gadgets and place them on the desktop. Additional options are available for each gadget.

This little app could clearly come in handy to users who are upgrading from Windows 7 and want to make the Windows 10 desktop as familiar as possible, so go ahead and download Gadgetarian right away to see what it can do for you.
