New update released to insiders in the Release Preview ring

Windows 10 Mobile insiders who are enrolled in the Release Preview ring have just received another update, but this time it only brings fixes and small performance improvements.

Build 10586.218 is not available for retail users, but only for those who are part of the Windows Insider program and are registered to the Release Preview ring, but depending on the received feedback, Microsoft could make it available for more devices too.

Since it’s only a minor update, Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.218 is all about improving performance and fixing bugs, so insiders should expect slightly better reliability and fewer bug fixes.

And while this update is god news for those who are participating in the Insider program, everyone’s waiting for another Redstone build, which according to Microsoft itself is expected to debut this week. A new Windows 10 Mobile Redstone build was originally supposed to launch last week, but due to a cellular data bug, the company decided to delay the release for a few more days until a fix is developed.

At this point, all we know is that there’s an internal build running smoothly and a release is indeed very likely this week, so expect it to land anytime soon. For the moment, this cumulative update is all we got, but we’ll keep you up to date should new builds land for insiders.

UPDATE: Retail devices are getting this update too, so mobiles and PCs are brought in sync once again with version .218.
