New improvements to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Microsoft has just released a new update for the Office productivity suite on Windows 10 Mobile devices, but just like before, the amount of information provided with this new version is rather limited.

The Windows 10 Mobile version of the Word processor has been bumped to 17.6965.47742 and includes changes to the way users work with tables, as cells can now be merged to create a header that spans across multiple columns.

Excel Mobile has reached version 17.6965.50462 while PowerPoint Mobile is now at 17.6965.42642, but neither comes with a change log to let us know what’s been improved.

Last but not least, the OneNote app has also been updated, with version 17.6965.57742 including options to record a short voice memo or sound clip that can then be inserted into a note.

It’s very clear that these updates aren’t bringing anything significant, but they most likely come with bug fixes and other improvements too. Users are thus recommended to download and install them as soon as possible, especially given the fact that they are supposed to improve performance on Windows 10 Mobile devices.

All updates can be downloaded automatically through the store, but in case you don’t see them just yet, you can manually check for new versions by firing up the store and going to the “Downloads and updates” section. If they're not there, you might have to wait a little bit longer until the updates become available for everyone.
