Tell Cortana “let’s chat about 2016” to hear the answers

Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana has learned some new tricks and can now chat about the top moments of 2016 when users simply ask her to chat about the year that’s going to end in just a couple of days.

Cortana, which is available on Windows 10 PCs and smartphones, has a series of answers prepared when users say or type “let’s chat about 2016,” but the personal assistant doesn’t go into any controversial details for the time being.

And obviously, it doesn’t talk politics, as Microsoft learned the hard way that this is one of the topics that it should avoid with its artificial intelligence tech.

“The whole world paid close attention to the Summer Games. Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, and Simone Biles all had memorable performances,” one such answer reads. “It was a big year for fans of superhero movies. Batman, Superman, X-Men, and Captain America all appeared on the big screen,” another one continues.

As said, Cortana doesn’t say a single thing about Donald Trump, who won the presidential race in the United States earlier this year, or about other sensitive topics that the Internet might be curious about.

There are also some reports that you can continue chatting with Cortana about the 2016 highlights based on the answers it provides, so go ahead and give it a try right now to see what the digital assistant is up to these days.
