A new version is now available for download

Microsoft has just rolled out a new version of the Windows Device Recovery Tool, which helps Windows Phone owners re-flash their devices in case something goes wrong and they have to start from scratch.

Little is known about this new version, and most likely, it only comes with bug fixes and performance improvements, but even so, the update is clearly a welcome one because the number of those joining the Windows Insider preview and running Windows 10 Mobile builds on their devices is growing.

Take the latest build, for instance: Microsoft required users to flash their phones to Windows Phone 8.1, and only then download and install build 10572, so every single update that's released for the Windows Device Recovery Tool is really helpful for those who want to try pre-release software.

A new build of Windows 10 Mobile is expected to debut this week, but this time, the WDRT won't be needed because Microsoft guarantees that the build-to-build upgrade system works like a charm and everyone should be able to see it on their phones without flashing.

But still, if you're a beta tester and like to be always on the safe side, make sure you download the Windows Device Recovery Tool right away and install the latest version just in case something bad happens (it shouldn't, but it's better to be safe than sorry).
