New model seems to be inspired by the MacBook Air

Xiaomi is one of the companies whose products have so far impressed in terms of design, even though some of them were more or less inspired by devices developed by competitors, and another laptop is now on its way to challenge Apple’s very own MacBook Air.

Although it currently doesn’t have a name, the upcoming Xiaomi laptop will run Windows 10, and just by looking at it, it becomes obvious that it’s designed to compete against the MacBook Air.

It will be offered in two versions, with either an 11- or 13-inch screen, according to WCCFTech, and will be powered by an Intel Core i7 6500U processor with a standard speed of 2.50 GHz and turbo speed of 3.10 GHz.

Furthermore, the laptop will feature 8 GB of RAM, but it won’t come with a touch screen, so it won’t take advantage of Windows 10’s touch capabilities. This is one of the main drawbacks of the device, but since it’s positioned as a rival to the MacBook Air, such a feature isn’t entirely critical.

A USB Type-C port will also be offered for quick charging and data transfers, but it’s not known yet if Xiaomi plans to go the same way as Apple and offer just one port on the whole device or some others might be available too.

Right now, there’s still no release date for this new Xiaomi laptop, but it’s expected to debut later this year, with full information and pricing details to be announced soon.
