Hyperbar

Google search has become almost instinctual for me when it comes to finding quick answers to our questions. However, with the growth of AI assistants, we might not rely on regular search engines like Google as much in the near future.

Hyperbar is an AI assistant that you can call up anytime with a simple keyboard shortcut. It's there to assist you without getting in the way, making your tasks easier and quicker to accomplish.

If you were to take a quick look over the home page, you would see the developer mentioning that you can customize the bar-like interface to your preferences. When I did open the Settings, the only available options were to add the OpenAI API key, which I didn't have at the time of this review.

Honestly, the Settings and the API shouldn’t be linked together. But, perhaps, it’s just a mishap and the actual settings were not added yet. Despite this limitation, the app looks promising and could be a suitable option for those seeking a non-intrusive AI assistant.

The app comes with a minimalistic interface that you can pop and discard whenever you need some assistance via the CTRL+ALT+K shortcut. While the bar-like interface seems to set to always be on top when in use, the rest of the time sits quietly in your system tray.

It would be nice if you could customize the hotkey in the future, especially for those who use shortcuts frequently when using the PC. At the same time, it’s generally better to leave it to the user to set a window as always on top or not.

Hyperbar has the potential to enhance user experiences by learning preferences over time and tailoring search results to individual interests and needs.
