CD Splash

A computer reads and scans every item plugged or inserted, and there are even programs or scripts configured to start in the specified time. For instance, CDs and DVDs can be fitted with autorun scripts to bring up menus or even launch programs, and this is where CD Splash comes in handy.

The application comes with a custom-made interface, but this doesn’t mean you have any problems accommodating with the set of features. The design is split into a couple of sections, one of which holds the preview area, while the other section holds necessary functions to set images and adjust parameters.

You start off by specifying the work folder, which is best set in the directory where your CD image or even the content of the disc itself is found. All files are created there, which then need to be burned along with the content to enable proper functioning of all features.

There’s the possibility to include a decent variety of elements to run whenever the target disc gets inserted. As such, you can have a picture show up as a splash screen, play sound, start a custom program, and add a custom icon to the CD. A timer field lets you specify the number of seconds for the splash screen to stay in view.

Unfortunately, the application only allows you to add a single, picture, so if you want to create a complex design, this needs to be done prior to the operation using other tools. A text string can be added as well, but the position can be changed only vertically.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that CD Splash is a pretty intuitive tool you can use to create splash screens for your CDs. Although there’s little customization involved, with no options to set exact window or text size, there’s the possibility to trigger multiple types of content on launch, making it worth your while overall.
