Manifest Editor

Manifest Editor is a feather-light and portable software utility that gives you the possibility to edit themes in Google Chrome. The package also includes a color picker.

Since there is no installation required (aside from Chrome), you can save the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run. There is also the possibility to save Manifest Editor to a pen drive or other mass storage device, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort.

An important aspect worth taking into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no extra files are created on the HDD without your permission, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.

Manifest Editor's GUI is based on a single window with a clear-cut structure that shows all options available. You can edit colors, text, tints, titles and properties when it comes to Chrome's frame, toolbar, link section, buttons, name, version and other factors after opening CRX files via the file browser, as well as use the color picker to find the red, green and blue channels along with the hexadecimal code of a specific color on the screen.

We have not come across any stability issues in our tests, since Manifest Editor did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time and minimal impact on PC performance, since it uses a low amount of CPU and memory. Although it is not filled with rich features, Manifest Editor delivers a simple solution to editing Chrome themes, and it can be easily handled.
