The Writer’s Workbench is a software tool that provides a simple means of storing your story, information about characters, the storyboard and all kinds of images.

This application is portable, which means that you can easily skip the installation process. This also means that it is not going to add any items to the Windows registry or hard drive without your approval (as installers usually do), and it is not going to leave traces behind it.

The interface you come by presents quite a well-structured and clean design, as it is comprised of a menu bar, several buttons, a folder structure and a pane in which to view documents created. It is suitable to all types of users, from beginners to highly experienced people.

This software utility enables you to create text documents, in which you can write the actual story, a storyboard in which you can write the basic ideas for the actions, you can upload images, as well as take advantage of a character work sheet, so that you can sketch all the people in your story.

It is possible to add tags to all types of documents, use a small search function, a find and replace one, a spell checker, a thesaurus and a dictionary. It is possible to view word count, add bookmarks and manage them.

To wrap it up, The Writer’s Workbench proves to be an efficient piece of software, dedicated to all types of writers, be they beginners or not. The response time is good, the system requirements are minimal and we did not detect error or crashes during our tests.
