Discs are commonly used for distributing and sharing movies, software, songs, images and more, with DVDs gaining more popularity compared to CDs due to their increased storage space. When you want to save a certain part of a DVD movie as a separate file, DVD Cutter might be just the tool you need.

As suggested by its name, DVD Cutter enables you to easily extract entire passages from a movie as long as it comes in VOB format. Featuring an intuitive and user-friendly interface, this application can act as a DVD player as well as a VOB editor.

In order to cut a video file, you only need to set the start and the endpoints, then save the created selection as a standalone VOB file – DVD Cutter also displays its total length before exporting the segment. When previewing the video, you get to use standard controls such as Play and Pause, while the Stop button navigates to the beginning of the clip.

In order to make sure you have extracted the part you wanted, you can replay it within the main panel of the software, either in window mode or in full screen, thus offering you the possibility to adjust the file's length as accurately as possible.

After you have created a segment, you can rely on DVD Cutter to start a new project without needing to close the software, then launch it again, so you can extract several consequent parts within the same session.

DVD Cutter does exactly what its name implies, although it only processes and generates VOB files. After extracting the desired part, one needs to find a compatible multimedia player to access the file or a dedicated app for converting the VOB to other formats.
