The CD used to be quite a popular way of creating data backups and even distributing files around. This method is not obsolete though, but with the Internet quickly gaining popularity, writing media to disc lost most of its popularity. Chances are you still need to rely on this method, and to avoid any complicated steps you can use DirMCB for a quick selection of data and CD burning.

One major advantage is the lack of an installation process, which makes the application a personal tool of writing data discs since you can carry it on a thumb drive to use on any computer you’re working on. This also means that system registry entries remain unaffected, so you don’t have to worry about putting stability of the target system at risk.

The main window is fitted with all functions and information panels you need, without complicating things through different menus and configurations. The application goes straight to the point, minimizing your entire effort to selecting files, and choosing the operation you want to perform.

Although the application doesn’t integrate in the system context menu to send files quickly to it, you can simply drop them over the main window to get them ready. Without anything else left to configure you can either burn data to CD/DVD, or create an ISO file which can later on be loaded here to be exported on a media disc.

Writing is done at maximum speed, with no configuration options in this regard. Once the process starts you get an idea of how much there is to wait thanks to the progress slider. You can view status in an output window, but provided info doesn’t really help that much.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that DirMCB is a straightforward application you can use to burn data to disc without wasting any time with any kind of configurations. All there is to it is dropping a selection of files or folders over the main window, and choosing whether you wish to burn to disc, or create an ISO file.
