There’s a saying which states that the early bird catches the worm, but some of us are night owls, and don’t really shine along with the sun in the morning. In this regard, A4A comes as a simple alarm clock you can carry around so you can set up reminders, or even to help you get out of bed in the morning.

Probably the most significant feature is portability. On the one hand, this allows you to run it right after download is done, but also to carry it on a thumb drive to use it on other PCs as well. On the other hand, registries are not modified during the process, so you don’t have to worry about affecting the stability of the target PC.

A pretty compact main window shows up on launch. With a classic window frame housing all features, intuitive, simple overall layout, and a few buttons, accommodation only takes a couple of seconds. Time is easily configured by writing down values for hours, minutes, and seconds in a dedicated field, while most of the space displays the system time.

By default, the alarm is on, so you only need to set the time for it to go off. Toggling the alarm state is done at the press of a button, but careful on the button tag, because the alarm state is exactly what reads on the button, which can either be On or Off. Hitting the “Test” button triggers the alarm, with an additional snooze button which only postpones the alarm with only 5 minutes.

The application minimizes to the tray area when done configuring it, and automatically pops up back when time runs up. There’s also a sound alert, but it can’t be configured. Multiple instances of the application can run simultaneously. Unfortunately, you need to set it every day, or leave the PC running, because it can’t run with Windows, or be configured according to date.

All things considered, we can say that A4A is a straightforward alarm clock which is sure to get you up in the morning if you boost up the system volume, and leave the PC running. Although customization is rather limited, with no possibility to at least change the sound, it deserves a try overall for its simplicity.
