Atomic Productivity

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that uses uninterruptable working periods followed by short breaks. The working periods are called "pomodoros." After a few pomodoros, you get a longer break.

You're free to choose timing that works for you, but the standard times are 25 minutes for a pomodoro, 5 minutes for a short break, and 30 minutes for a long break. You get a long break after 4 pomodoros. That means an entire cycle of pomodoros plus long break is 2.5 hours.

One cycle is all you generally need to get 8 hours worth of work done if you had done it on a normal schedule.

The Atomic Productivity timer was designed to help you with the Pomodoro technique. It features an "Abandon Atom" button so be careful when pressing it.. Remember there's no pausing a pomodoro. You either complete it, or it doesn't count.

Also, you can change lengths of the time for the pomodoros, short break, and long break, and you can set the number of pomodoros before a long break. Just click "Configuration" to edit those if you want (you shouldn't need to, the defaults work well).

When there's less than a minute left in whatever period you're in, the clock will turn red to give you a subtle cue that your time is running out.

When time is up an alarm will sound, and a big message will appear on your screen telling to you stop. You have to click the message to get rid of it, but it doesn't actually take focus away from the current application, so you won't lose half a sentence when the thing pops over to yell at you.
