Time is the way we can guide our activities every day, and be able to synchronize everything. Even Windows comes with its own clock to use, which neatly stays in the tray area. However, there are also various customization options which come in the form of third-party applications such as Binary Clock.
You have the possibility to store the application on a USB flash drive in case you want to have a personal clock with you. This is all because there is no installation involved, thus saving you some time and effort. Don’t worry about the stability of the computer you decide to use it on, because registry entries are not modified in the process.
A pretty compact window shows up on launch, and the clock is active. As the name suggests, it shows time in binary format, displaying hours, minutes, and seconds in real time. Although this is a pretty cool method of displaying time, especially for geeks, it can be pretty difficult to rely on this method, since you need to add some numbers to tell the exact time.
On the other hand, the application comes with several customization options to make it suit your style. There’s the possibility to toggle display mode from small to large to mini. Moreover, you can choose a custom background image, and even define the LED display colors, either picking from a few presets, or manually creating a color through RGB sliders.
When in large mode, you can enable the title bar with info to show time, date, or binary time. To always have it ready, you need to manually add a shortcut inside the system Startup folder. Unfortunately, there’s no built-in alarm system to configure.
All things considered, we can state that Binary Clock is a cool clock to keep around, which is sure to make the geek inside you smile. Various customization options are at your disposal to make it suit your style, and you can even carry it around on a thumb drive.
