Not only this, but a handy timer tool can prevent you from forgetting about important activities, and in case you’re looking for a simple reminder tool, then Cimer might just be the right thing for you.

Although you’re initially taken through a setup process to ensure the functionality of the application, it’s also possible to have it deployed on a thumb drive in case you need to use it on other computers besides your own. This is mostly because registry entries are not a dependency, while the health status of the target PC remains intact.

As far as the visual design goes, the application wraps everything in a pretty clean window, with classic element. The more you stretch the window borders, the larger the clock gets, which comes in handy for placing it on large displays. However, there isn’t a fullscreen mode in case you want to leave just the clock in plain sight.

The core feature of the application is to remind you of upcoming events. Note, however, that the upper time limit is 60 minutes, which leaves much to be desired. There’s little flexibility provided in terms of time management, but it might come in handy as a method of knowing when it’s time to take a break after a working session.

Setting up the timer is easy enough, and only requires you to drag the indicator over the clock, until the time value of interest appears. You can pick from a few predefined values, but there’s no possibility to manually specify an exact value. There’s no option to add a message, but you can enable audio alerts.

All things considered, we can state that Cimer is a pretty lightweight tool which isn’t really helpful when it comes to setting up reminders on the long run. It can, however, be a proper method of configuring a timer for work intervals, reminding you when it’s time to take a break.
