Apply different filters to a calendar to view only weekdays or weekends, days until the end or from the start of the month with this lightweight app #Java calendar #Calendar utility #Calendar tool #Calendar #Date #Event
All activities take time, and there’s only enough of it each day to filter out less important activities. However, a well-organized timetable can greatly boost chances of success for any domain of activity. Planning ahead is enhanced by visual preview, and is exactly what you can accomplish with DateUtils using different filters.
Since it doesn’t need to be installed to function, the application is portable so you can even have it with you wherever you go on a thumb drive. Chances are you can run it on other operating system apart from Windows because it relies on Java Runtime Environment to work, but doesn’t modify registry entries in the meantime.
Although pretty intuitive in the sense of visual design, you might end up a little disappointed after a few trial runs. This is mostly because of the shallow set of features it comes with, but most of all the lack of any options to save details you generate, or copy any values.
The application relies only on date, not time. It reads the system configuration to grab current day, but you’re free to change values from the calendar field, or even the dedicated object. However, you need to toggle the visibility of the gadget after every change to be able to generate a proper preview.
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot to cover when it comes to features. All filter rules directly affect the visual style of the calendar, which only shows the selected month. General options can automatically close it, make it editable, and enable the “today” button in case you stray off course too much. Changes to values mostly represent specific highlight options based on rules you select. These aren’t abundant, and can display all days after or before the current one, weekdays, or weekends.
DateUtils is a straightforward method of generating a highlighted calendar based on the current day. Unfortunately, it’s heavily underprepared to deliver a proper experience, with a shallow set of features, no color or style customization options, or possibility to save a picture of the generated calendar.
