Digi Timer

Digi Timer is a simple-to-use application that can be scheduled to remind you to take breaks from working long hours on the computer. It can also be used as a countdown timer for various other tasks, such as rehearsing timed presentations.

The setup procedure doesn't take long. However, it depends on .NET Framework, so you must have this platform installed to be able to launch Digi Timer.

Although the developer doesn't specify this, the utility gets integrated into the Windows startup sequence automatically, so it gets launched by default every time you boot the PC. This can be later modified.

Digi Timer creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area once it's fired up to give you quick access to the configuration panel. It gets minimized there to let you carry on with your typical desktop activity while counting down time.

It's possible to create a list with multiple countdown values set in hours, minutes and seconds, and pause and resume the timer. The program plays a sound alert when time is up and notifies you in a popup window.

However, these options can be disabled, in addition to looping and Windows autorun. Unfortunately, it doesn't give you the possibility to replace the sound alert with a custom audio file, nor to write a personalized message for the reminder popups.

The application used minimal system resources in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. It worked smoothly and remained stable in its runtime, without freezing, crashing or displaying errors.

Although it's not the richest countdown timer we've seen in terms of options and configuration settings, Digi Timer gets the job done and delivers convenient features that can be figured out by anyone looking to schedule break reminders and other tasks.
