Reminders

Reminders is an intuitive and straightforward application that gives you the possibility to create and manage many simple reminders simultaneously to keep track of events which are taking place shortly in the future, such as tasks, chores or grocery shopping. It has a small set of features that can be figured out quickly.

The only aspect worth noting about installation is that you must have .NET Framework installed, otherwise the tool won't launch. Newer Windows versions have this software framework built in, so you shouldn't have any issues in this regard.

Once it's fired up, Reminders gets integrated into the systray to provide you with fast access to its options while proceeding with your typical activities on the computer. It only shows message alerts with the reminders when time's up.

It's possible to set up as many reminders as you want by specifying a description and countdown time in minutes or hours. The reminders are inactive by default, so you have to turn them on to start the timers. Moreover, you can edit timer settings or remove any entry from the list if you change your mind.

As far as customization properties are concerned, you can prevent Reminders from hiding the window on minimization and from automatically resizing columns, switch the display style from list to detailed mode, as well as ask it to show only the alert icons or only reminder descriptions instead of both.

The software application ran smoothly in our evaluation, without indicating errors, hanging or crashing. It consumed minimum RAM and CPU, so it didn't hamper the performance of the machine.

On the other hand, the interface of Reminders needs more work in the graphical department. The set of options may not be rich, but it's easy to use by anyone.
