LDB ClockXP

LDB ClockXP is a small software application whose purpose is to help you check out the time from the comfort of your desktop and set up alarms in order to remember important events. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

After a fast and simple installation process where you only need to press on a few ‘Next’ buttons in order to complete the job, you are welcomed by a small panel. LDB ClockXP reveals the time in hours, minutes, and seconds directly in the main window, and displays the current date.

You can get access to the configuration settings by right-clicking on the minimalist window. A help manual is not included in the package. However, you can decode the dedicated parameters on your own because they look easy to work with.

The main window remains on top of other programs. Plus, you can move it to the preferred position on the desktop.

LDB ClockXP gives you the possibility to trigger alarms daily, hourly, or a custom time interval, show popup notifications or play sound alerts (you may also enable both popup and audio notifications), specify the date and time, and enter a user-defined text message. You can make the tool open custom programs or documents when the time is up, alter the volume up to a specific level, as well as shut down the computer at specific time.

Other important configuration settings worth being mentioned enable you to change the looks of the clock using different skins, customize different aspects of the clock’s design (like transparency, colors, and font options), adjust the date and time format, and play custom sound files (like MP3, MIDI, and WAV).

Tests have pointed out that LDB ClockXP remains light on system resources so you do not have to worry that it affects the overall performance of the computer. On the downside, it hasn’t benefited from an update for a long time so you may come across all sorts of issues, bugs, and errors on newer operating systems like Windows 10 and 8.
