Large Timer

Large Timer is a desktop application you can use to set a countdown timer in hours, minutes and seconds. It plays an alarm when time's up to draw your attention.

The tool doesn't have rich options or configuration settings, making it ideal for users interested in a straightforward tool that gets the job done in a simple manner.

Wrapped in a Modern UI, Large Timer is compatible with computers running Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, including mobile devices with touch support. It can be downloaded and installed from the Windows Store, so you can launch it like any other Metro app, pinned to the Start Screen or Menu for quick access.

The control window has a blue background with black font, colors which cannot be changed because there aren't any customization options in this regard. As suggested by the name of the app, the timer is very big.

This way, you can start the countdown, leave it visible on the screen, and step away from your computer to attend to other activities around the house or office while keeping track of remaining time.

For example, you can schedule breaks or allocate fixed time to chores or other types of tasks, in the attempt to improve your organizing and time management skills.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the timer can be set in hours, minutes and seconds. To do this, click the up and down arrows which correspond go the time units. The keyboard isn't supported for this.

The countdown begins after clicking "Start" and can be reset with "Clear". When the clock reaches 00:00:00, Large Timer plays repetitive beeping sounds, similar to classic digital clocks.

An issue we've noticed is that timer is paused if minimized to the taskbar. This means that it cannot be used for scheduling activities carried out on your computer, unless the window remains opened in the background.

Other than that, Large Timer provides a practical solution for improving your time management and organizing skills with the help of a standard countdown timer with alarms.
