Smart Time Tracker promises to help you get detailed time reports on the time you spend working on your computer and detect the distractions that make you waste precious minutes or hours.

The application is easily installed in Windows and, as soon as the setup is complete, it prompts you to register or login to your account. You only need a valid email address and a secure password to proceed. 

You might wonder why an account is needed to track the activity on a local PC. As a matter of fact, Smart Time Tracker gathers time tracking information in your personal dashboard for all the computers you log into with this account. In other words, you get to see time reports regarding multiple workstations, whether we are talking about the personal or the work computer, your child’s workstation, and so on.

While Smart Time Tracker is continuously running in the system tray, the web-based dashboard can be easily accessed from the right-click menu. The dashboard allows you to configure the application’s settings and get reports on the computer time.

You get to see the total amount of time spent on the local PC by a specific user, as well as the time wasted on distractions: browsing, social media, games, video sharing websites, gambling and shopping, chatting, and so on.

You can configure the website categories Smart Time Tracker should consider as time-wasting and add your own exceptions for each user. Time-wasting apps can also be configured.

Smart Time Tracker is practically a reporting tool to make you conscious of the time you are spending working and your own unproductive habits. It does not prevent procrastination and time-wasting activities in any way, nor does it block access to websites. In other words, it cannot be used as a parental control tool. Its purpose is to make you become more aware of the time you spend on distractions and the way it affects your productivity.
