Luckily, there are various such third-party clock alternatives, and TB Clock is a suitable example in this regard.

A cool thing about it is that you don’t even have to go through a setup process to make it work, so you can store it directly on a thumb drive in case you want to use it on other computers as well. What’s more, runtime doesn’t make any changes to registry entries, so you can rest assured that the health status of the target PC remains intact.

When launched, the application brings up a pretty compact window in which a clock is displayed. The little window can be easily moved to any desktop location, and it stays on top of everything else. This isn’t really an inconvenience, because its size makes it fit nearly everywhere.

The application isn’t devoid of options, even though this is what you might think, since there’s no button, or associated tray icon to hold a menu. The desktop position is remembered on exit just so you don’t move it every time it’s launched.
