StopWatch

Since everything revolves around time, and there’s only enough of it every day to perform most planned activities, it’s always good to know how much it takes to finish tasks. This can mean a simple activity as counting your tasks, and StopWatch wants to help in this regard, with the possibility to use it on the go.

You don’t have to go through a setup process to make the application function, so you’re free to take it for a spin as soon as download is done. It’s easy to carry around on a thumb drive in case you want to use it on different computers. Just make sure that the PC you run it on is equipped with .NET Framework, otherwise it doesn’t work.

The visual design doesn’t really make the application stand out from the crowd, but isn’t difficult to understand either. There’s a large field where all marked times are saved, while the rest of the controls are found on the side. The status is displayed in a dedicated section, and there’s a timer providing feedback in real time as soon as the timer starts.

As the name clearly points out, the core purpose of the application is to be a personal stopwatch. Hitting the “start” button puts the counter in motion, with the option to mark events at the press of a button, each entry being saved and enlisted in a large section.

When stopped, you can save all marked times as a TXT file in case a report is required. Moreover, a TXT file can be imported in case you want to carry out from where you left off the other day. A cool trick is to assign a hotkey command to its shortcut so you can launch it from anywhere on your PC.

All things considered, it’s safe to say that StopWatch might not really be a pretty application to track time, but it does get the job done as expected. You can easily mark events at the press of a button, and even save the entire log as a TXT file.
