VDTimer

Those who use VirtualDub’s capture feature might be looking for an efficient way of scheduling their snapshots. VDTimer was created as a scheduling utility for the video capture and it will work in close connection with the VirtualDub window. It will allow users to automate their video capture by adding custom timers.

Using its main interface, users will be able to add, edit or remove timers and the application will provide a dedicated scheduling window where all the details can be configured.

One will be able to select a specific start / stop time (with year / month / day, as well as hour / minute / second information) and add an additional comment for personal reference. If exiting the application, the defined schedules are then automatically saved to disk and reloaded when initiating the next session.

After certain scheduling items have been added, the application will provide people with a small viewing area where the timers will be displayed. Details about the start / stop times are provided, as well as a preview of any additional comments. The listing can be completely cleared by using the on-screen “Clear” command.

Users are advised to make sure that their VirtualDub software is running in capture mode. The scheduled captures with their corresponding timers can then be enabled from VDTimer’s main interface. The capture process can be stopped at any time, by using the “Esc” key and the application will automatically rename the capture files.
