Designed to act as a "shelf" for your files, URLs, and text snippets, this utility can save the content you drop on its interface for later, helping users reach certain items of interest faster. #Item Shelf #Drag and Drop #Productivity Booster #Shelf #Store #Productivity
Finding new ways to improve how you carry out your workflows can be quite exciting. You stumble upon a new tool to help you improve your efficiency and enjoy a boost in productivity, which is really a best-case scenario.
Workflows and how one conducts them varies from person to person, but Dropshelf is a tool that can bring about some meaningful sense of progression with your productivity. Designed to act as a "shelf" for common items, such as photos, videos, documents, and even text snippets and URLs, the program seeks to make copying and moving those items more convenient.
Though the idea of providing a widget of sorts on your desktop that helps you organize frequently-accessed items for easier access is nothing new, the implementation here is particularly notable. More specifically, highlighting one or more files, then shaking your mouse while holding the left mouse button will bring up a "shelf," which will allow you to store those files and access them later.
The feature works surprisingly well, too. Select your files, give your mouse a little shake, and the program's interface should appear, letting you store those items with ease. If you're not one for shaking, you can use the Win+Shift+Z hotkey to create a new shelf whenever you require.
Storing certain files you may want to use later can prove to be useful, and the same is true for text snippets and URLs, making the program a viable choice for many workflows.
You can work with as many shelves as you want, which will enable you to move your items around as you please. A small suggestion would be to have a hotkey that can enable you to bring up an existing shelf: as it stands now, the only shortcuts pertain to creating new shelves.
Overall, Dropshelf can prove to be a useful piece of software in many situations. Try it out, and see how you jibe with its toolset.
