AltDragging

Those using AltDrag to manage the windows of any open applications, probably noticed that the tool stopped receiving updates a long time ago. If you got accustomed to doing this operation with the Alt key, then you will be happy to learn that there are alternatives.

AltDragging is what the developer likes to call a reincarnation of AltDrag and, similarly to the tool, it allows you to move and resize windows using the mouse and Alt key.

After the quick installation via Microsoft Store, you can access the Settings of the app from System Tray. Take note that the program does not feature an interface, but that is not an issue, considering its role and that the original app didn’t have a GUI either.

Depending on what you plan to resize or move, you can consider giving elevated privileges to the program. Once you settle this, you can open the Settings window where you can add and remove programs that should be blacklisted from snapping, moving or resizing.

At the same time, you can customize the behavior of the tool, meaning you can specify enable if the mouse should be used as well as enable autofocus, ignore fullscreen, configure the window transparency or specify if you prefer the app to always be on top.

Other noteworthy options in the Settings include configuring the resize delay, move threshold, snap to inner borders, snap threshold and just to name a few. You can configure the app to start with Windows, if your work entails resizing and moving windows relatively frequently.

AltDragging provides quite a handful of options to help you manage and control windows’ size and location via the Alt button and the mouse.
