When working with several programs at the same time, chances are your screen get a little crowded with all the open windows.

Adjusting the opacity of some of these windows can lower the impact on your eyes, while also making them less distracting, and Appacity can help you in this regard.

The graphic interface of Appacity is not only user-friendly, but also as straightforward as it can, so as to encourage even novices to tamper with the opacity level of their apps.

Basically, as soon as you install the utility, it analyzes the computer and detects all the programs that are currently open. Then, its main window displays a list with all the windows you can enhance.

Nonetheless, if you want to start another application, you need to manually refresh the list otherwise it will not be displayed.

Once you locate the window you are interested in, you can start tampering with its default level of opacity (the modification is visible instantly). You can even play a prank on a co-worker and take the opacity level all the way to 0, thus making a certain window completely transparent.

However, you need to keep in mind that once the process is terminated, the opacity level is reverted to its standard value. In other words, the configuration you create within Appacity is valid for the current session only.

Appacity is nifty little app for quickly changing the opacity of various windows. Yet, it is still a work in process and you can tell it is rough around the edges when it does not correctly identify the running programs.

Also, it is worth mentioning that not all windows can be enhanced either, so you need to check for yourself if a chosen utility is compatible or not.
