When it comes to the background image, most of us either go online and download the latest 4K wallpapers or we use our nature or family photos. However, if you are not pleased by what the internet has to offer, and you don't have personal images to go for, you can try to generate custom backgrounds yourself. Background Generator is a neat and easy-to-use application that provides some good models and animations for you to create your perfect wallpaper.

When you launch the app for the first time a random colorful template will be ready for editing. Above the same model, you can find a small collection of images that can serve as templates. The tool refers to them as Image Styles, and there are seven in total: Colorful, Graphics, Galaxy, Changing Light, Poly, Dreamy, and Stripes.

Each of these categories sports several patterns that can serve as the base of your possible wallpapers. You can opt to add text over your templates, in order to enrich them with messages or funny quotes. The text can also be applied using the effects provided by the app. However, there are only ten available effects, but you can combine them with any image style.

After you figure out how to select your patterns and text effects, you can move to the sidebar — the tool's control panel. From there you can generate models, choose resolutions and colors, determine transparency, and add the text you want to use with the preferred effect. Once you are done with this part as well, you can proceed to generate the wallpaper. Look for the Save as JPG or PNG buttons, choose the output location and you're done — your wallpaper is now ready to complement your screen.
