Background Terminal

The ability to monitor and verify the status of your CPU activity and therefore PC performance has been known to be easily provided by “core metering” style apps, which offer a good insight into the influence of particular applications on the processor characteristics and parameters.

Based on the CoreMeter z-order management tool, Background Terminal will provide users with a customizable means of adding their preferred applications and processes and visualizing their impact on the CPU performance. All through an adjustable interface that will be nested in the desktop background.

The visually dynamic terminal overlay offers users a set of tools for adjusting the look and feel of the background. To this end, their preferred process or application can be added in the input field, as well as a specific key combination, for prompting it. The font characteristics, such as color and size, can also be adjusted, via HEX codes.

The window status can be set to either locked or unlocked, depending on users’ preferences, and the position on the desktop area, as well as size, can be fine-tuned, by manually inputting the X and Y coordinates, as well as width and height, all in pixels. Last but not least, triggers are also provided and can also be customized.
